It’s not often I get the opportunity to work with a brand that I’ve adored and enjoyed for 10+ years, so when Rodney Strong reached out wanting to partner for their new brand Upshot, I jumped at the chance, confident knowing it would be a wine I could stand by.
Upshot: The final or eventual positive outcome or conclusion of a discussion, action, or series of events. Upshot gave winemaker, Justin Seidenfeld, the path to be creative in blending these varietals into wines that represent his passion for winemaking, love of life and appreciation for living in the wine county. He admits he is fortunate to experience this culture each and every day. Continue reading “Upshot Wine-Blend With Passion”…
One of my goals for 2019 is to do more local wine events here in Utah so I was excited when I noticed Veneto, an authentic Italian restaurant, here in Salt Lake City was hosting a wine event focusing on Brunello di Montalcino!
Let me start with the restaurant itself and then I’ll move on to the wine. Owners Marco and Amy Stevanoni make you feel right at home from the moment you step into this quaint space. Not only is the food authentic but you truly feel like you are in a small European bistro surrounded by antique furniture, intricate details and an inviting setting you would expect from this culture. The menu offers year-round classic favorites and seasonal specialties from the Veneto region with most of the ingredients farmed locally.
There is no tipping in Veneto or at VENETO, adding to the relaxed environment of simply enjoying a delicious meal and quite possibly learning something new along the way. Their team is paid a professional salary and then they simply add a small “coperto” (“covered” in Italian) of $4 per guest to each check. Again, allowing their guest to focus on their dining experience instead of worrying about how much to tip at the end of the evening. Any tips above and beyond that are donated to The Danielle Byron Henry Migraine Foundation. Continue reading “Brunello di Montalcino Anyone?”…
I’ve decided not all electric toothbrushes are created equal. When Smile Brilliant
reached out asking if I’d like to collaborate and try their electric toothbrush
, I was hesitant. I already had an electric toothbrush that was working just fine, or so I thought. And if I’m being really honest, I figured after reviewing the toothbrush, I’d hand it over to my husband (it came with two electric toothbrush heads
) as a late Christmas present. That has all changed, I’m keeping the toothbrush and I’ll tell you why.
My teeth have always been pretty white. But if you were to look closely, I have light “wine” lines on my front teeth. Although they are subtle, it’s always bothered me. I’ve tried all sorts of teeth whitening toothpastes, other remedies and even have fitted whitening trays from my dentist. From my experience, I haven’t always been diligent in following these steps or processes. Some of these remedies are time consuming and I simply push them to the wayside.
I’ve been using the cariPRO Ultrasonic electric toothbrush
for a couple weeks now and I LOVE it! There are 5 brush modes; clean, white, massage, gum care and sensitive. After 30 seconds of brushing, it makes a brief pause so you know to move on to the next mode. My teeth aren’t sensitive so I didn’t use that style very often. My focus was on cleaning and whitening. I use those two the most. I found that the massage and gum care modes are similar. I do like the gum care option because it is something I don’t normally focus on when I’m brushing my teeth, so it’s nice that it has its own mode to remind you to give your gums some love. Most importantly, and what made me a believer in this specific toothbrush, is the fact that my teeth are whiter and my “wine” lines have faded!
I will be partnering with Smile Brilliant

I started this blog back in March of 2016, looking for a creative outlet. I needed to do something I was passionate about, something I enjoyed and something just for me. If you’ve read some of my posts, you have experienced my love for writing. It’s very therapeutic for me. So I decided a blog would be perfect. I’d be able to write and showcase my personal passions in life, mainly wine and fashion.
I started strong, excited to get things going and then slowly I let life get in the way. I began making excuses as to why I wasn’t posting. And then fear of failure crept right back into my life and I stopped posting last October. Then in January of this year, I was going through my Instagram feed looking at all my pictures and reading my posts and realized how much I missed it. I realized I needed to make a choice. Was I going to stop altogether or continue doing something I love? As you are reading this now, I decided on the latter. Continue reading “2017…In The Books ~ 2018…I’m Coming For Ya”…
I have always loved the four seasons, mainly because I do enjoy changing up my wardrobe every few months, right?! It’s very refreshing! But, it’s always around this time of year I start to get spring fever. And seeing all the new trends, including sandals, isn’t helping the matter.
Yesterday I was working away in my home office when the UPS guy rang my doorbell. I knew exactly what was being delivered, these beauties from Nordstrom! I had a conference call starting soon so I couldn’t open them immediately, but I’m not a patient person, sooo….. half way through the call (with my phone muted) I opened up the box, fell in love at first sight and had to try them on. Not only are these sandals stylish but they are equally comfortable. Now I just need to wait for the weather to warm up so I can wear them. I wear a size 6 and would say they are true to size. They are a beautiful blush color and also come in black and cognac. I’ve linked them below and a couple others that are similar in style and price. Better order these quickly, I have a feeling they will be gone in a minute!
Happy shopping, cheers! ~B
